Me, in my new classroom with my boss!
Me standing in front of my new school.
My new class - September 3, 2008.
St. Kitts Montessori Academy Grades 3 & 4.
The day really flew by! But during the course of the day, I learned all 19 of their names, as well as their hobbies and interests. It was a wonderful day!
I have students in my class from many countries including: St. Kitts & Nevis, the United States (New York, South Carolina & Connecticut), England, Hong Kong, Canada, Trinidad, & Barbados. It was such a great experience to see children from all over come to a new place and all get along so well.
As promised to the Riverdale class of 2009 - I have the beautiful picture of you all in my classroom. I showed my new students that picture as well as a picture of the Riverdale Staff so you are all in my classroom in St. Kitts!!!
I'm going to include a few pictures of my school and one of my new class today!
I hope you all have a great back to school. It was weird to not be in Riverdale on the 1st day of school - but I am very excited about my new school here as well!
Good luck everyone!
Love,
Ms. Vics

Hi Ms. Vics,
Wow! you have more kids in your class then in mine. One quick question. Did you make friends with your boss and staff?

Ms.Vics,
Hey, Its Chelsea!!! I cant believe that i started high school two days ago! This summer has gone so fast. I was at the school the other day and i past your old tech lab and i immedintely thought about our last day spent together. Whenever I think about that day, I get upset because I know that im not going to be able to visit you when i go visit the other teachers. Im trying to convince my mom to go to St.Kitts over spring break because Dylan leaves for the marines the day after graduation. Im on the JV/Varsity field hockey team!=] I cant believe it! It's not going to be the same. I read what you wrote in my year book and it brought a tear to my eye...LOL my mom wants to know if you know what is in between the coast of Nikaraga and Coast Rico? I hope she says yes about going to St.Kitts for spring break!!! Just know that you are the best and that no matter where you are you have a big special place in my heart. You schould keep a mirror on your desk with a picture of me and a little thing that says "Your chain on your necklace is in the front."=]
I hope you are having fun down in St.Kitts!!!!
Hi Ayla-
My class is pretty big - 19 children! My boss and colleagues are really great... I am really enjoying getting to know everyone and it seems like everyone is so friendly.
Chelsea-
Congratulations on the field hockey team! That is so wonderful!! I can't believe you are in HS either - where did my little Chelsea go? I really can't believe Dylan leaves for the Marines at the end of the year. I think you all should come to St. Kitts for sure before he goes :) I will always miss you fixing me up Chelsea - you were the one who kept all my jewelry on straight - good idea about the mirror on my desk, I'll have to look into that! Stay in touch and keep me posted on what is going on in HS.

Sounds like you are settling in and enjoying your new job....
Wishing you all the best.
Your friend,

Your Dad always prided himself on learning all his student's names the first day of school ... looks like the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.
Enjoy your school year.
